Many people in Saddleworth dispute the boundary changes which placed the district in Oldham rather than it's former home of West Yorkshire. This road sign at the border of Mossley and Greenfield has been unofficially altered to obliterate any mention of Oldham and assert the Yorkshire claim.

The interestingly named Dirty Lane at Bleak Hey above Diggle, leading down to Castleshaw reservoirs.

A proper Pennine road name!

The former Horse and Jockey pub on the A62 at Bleak Hey Nook above Diggle in late 2006, now boarded up and derelict.

The Horse and Jockey again in summer 2007, it now appears to have suffered a fire and the roof has collapsed.

work going on to make safe the disused Carrhill Mill buildings in Mossley after part of the wall collapsed on 20 July 2008. The buildings had been planned for redevelopment and were since demolished - see this photo.
