The view from Standedge looking to Diggle on 6 April 2008 after a thin overnight covering, the morning sun had already thawed much of it from the valley and sunnier hillsides.

Also on 6 April at Diggle as a railtour heads east, the cold weather was certainly good for producing steam!

In the early hours of 8 April there was a surprise fall of snow around Mossley followed by a very gloomy morning. This is the scene at Top Mossley.

Broadcarr Lane on the edge of Mossley, there was upto 6cms of snow in the higher parts of town which lasted until early afternoon before thawing quickly as it brightened up.
