On 1st May 2005 I decided to walk the southern and northern edges of Kinder for a change, especially as a sunny day was forecast. This is heading up to Kinder Low End from Hayfield, as you can see it wasn't so sunny...

It was a bit bleak on top, not good considering I was about to head off on a route I was not familiar with. I had a compass but didn't want to test my navigation skills too much!

But there was a strong wind helping break up the low cloud, this photo was taken just after the one above showing how quickly things can change.

A trio of walkers head through the mist.

Heading off round the southern edge of Kinder - forgive me if I get any names wrong but I think the rock in the foreground is Noe Stool. Beyond are the Wool Packs.

Approaching the Wool Packs, an area strewn with weirdly shaped rocks and boulders.

Looking down to Edale.

In a grough, heading straight across the moor to the northern edge.

Another view along the northern edge

Shame the weather wasn't sunnier, but an enjoyable walk seeing another side to Kinder.
