BACK TO PEAK DISTRICT PHOTO INDEX

The photos on this page are all taken at (or very near) points 2 miles from my house - this is to the west in the grounds of Lyme Park, Disley with views out over Cheshire & Greater Manchester.

Heading the same distance down the Peak Forest canal is Bridgemont, where the canal splits to Whaley Bridge and Buxworth.

Going south/south east we get to the Whaley Lane just before it drops down into Whaley Bridge.

Travelling North East down the Sett Valley trail, which runs on the old railway line from New Mills to Hayfield. This photo at Birch Vale is actually just beyond the 2 mile limit - but gives a better view of the reservoir and Lantern Pike behind.

Around 2 miles to the east above New Mills heading onto the moors at the top of Laneside Road.

Back in Lyme Park, but this time looking north east over New Mills towards Kinder on the skyline.

The view from Overhill Road, below Chinley Churn to the south east of New Mills. Looking down to a snowy Whaley Bridge.

Below Mellor Moor, to the North West of New Mills looking out across Manchester and Cheshire.

2 miles across the fields going south, looking back up to Black Hill & Whaley Moor.

Roman Lakes at Strines, down in the Goyt Valley between New Mills and Marple.
