Swinedale Beck on the walk up the Pennine Way from Dufton.

Looking back to Knock Pike.

The way ahead to Great Dun Fell with its radar, and Cross Fell to the right.

A zoomed in photo of the radar on Great Dun catching a glimpse of sun.

The Air Traffic Control radar and various masts on Great Dun Fell.

View from Little Dun Fell to Cross Fell.

Looking west over the Eden Valley to the Lake District mountains.

The summit of Cross Fell, highest point in the Pennines.

Shame it was rather cloudy, but far better than my previous visit to Cross Fell when the summit was in low cloud with very little visibility, that time I was too busy trying to navigate safely of the mountain to take any photos!

Navigtion was easy today, with the way I'd walked (and was also heading back) over Little and Great Dun Fell then down to Dufton all clear to see.

A similar view but this time looking south east from Cross Fell over the remote moors. Cow Green Reservoir is far in the distance on the left

Heading down the steep private road which leads to Great Dun radar station. The road is the highest in Britain and is lined with poles to mark out the route in snow. There must be some huge drifts at this point judging by the height of the poles!

Looking back up the road at Knock Ore Gill.

Great Rundale Beck near Dufton in the evening sun.
