VARIOUS STUFF - CONISTON FELLS WALK - JUNE 2010
BACK TO LAKE DISTRICT PHOTO INDEX

The plan for this walk was to head over all the Coniston Fells I'd not been to before. This is on fell number 1 Wetherlam, as the low cloud which had covered the tops began to clear.

Another view from Wetherlam looking to the Scafell range.

The way ahead, with my next hill Black Sails to the left and summits 3 and 4 Swirl How and Great Carrs beyond.

Heading down from Black Sails towards the Prison Band leading up to Swirl How.

On the summit of Swirl How.

The view from Swirl How to Wetherlam on the right and the valley down to Little Langdale.

The ridge to Great Carrs.

A memorial (and some wreckage) to a World War Two air crash on Great Carrs. Grey Friar (hill number 5 of the day) is behind.

The view from Grey Friar to the Hardknott Pass and Eskdale.

The opposite view to Brim Fell (nearest left and my final new summit of the day), Coniston Old Man behind and Dow Crag on the right - I'd been up both those two before though my walk would take me over Old Man again today before heading back down.

Levers Water and Coniston Water seen from the walk to Brim Fell.

Looking back from Coniston Old Man to Brim Fell.

Heading down from Coniston Old Man.

Waterfall on Levers Water Beck as I made my way back to Coniston village.
