On the way to Grasmere, this is Lake Windermere at Ambleside with autumn trees and snow on the highest peaks.


Steel Fell near Grasmere.

At the top of Tongue Gill, with Fairfield ahead beneath the cloud.

Climbing up the side of Fairfield.

On the top of Fairfield with a covering of snow, low cloud and a strong bitterly cold wind.

Heading down to Link Hause, betwen Fairfield and Hart Crag, and looking back to the ridge to Great Rigg during a brief break in the cloud.

Leaving Fairfield towards Great Rigg, Coniston Water is ahead and beyond that the Irish sea lit up by the sun.
