A patch of evening sun lights up a field below Lingmell at Wasdale Head as I started my walk up Kirk Fell
Looking back to Wasdale and Wast Water during a rest on the climb. It's not far at all from Wasdale Head to the summit of Kirk Fell but it's very steep and I'd already walked 11 miles from Seascale to the campsite at Wasdale, my legs were aching!
On the top at last, looking to Great Gable.
A view from the summit to Wast Water, and somewhere beyond is the coast but it's lost in the evening haze.

Pillar and Scoat Fell in the fading light. That's all the photos from this walk, my way back to Wasdale via the Black Sail pass was done in increasing darkness by the light of my head torch before a couple of much needed pints in the Wasdale Head Inn.
But here's a photo the next morning, Kirk Fell is on the left with Great Gable on the right.
