Above Horton in Ribblesdale about 0830 on 19 November 2005 on a beautiful sunny and cold, forsty morning
Looking south from the slopes of Penyghent, with distant Pendle Hill rising above the mist. Driving thru the mist temps were as low as -6C, by the time I started my walk from Horton in Ribblesdale it was only -4!
A hard frost remained all day out of the sun, as seen here on the northern slope of Plover Hill 19.11.05. Even in the sun it was only 4C
Back nearer home on 20 November with frost in the valley of the River Goyt at New Mills. This was part way thru a cold spell with frost remaining all day in sheltered areas for 5 or 6 days.
