The morning of 24 October
2005 was very wet with several hours of heavy steady rain. This view shows water
running down the fields in Higher Disley, Cheshire.

On the ridge near Bowstones, at nearly 400 metres above sea level it was bleak with rain driven by a strong SE wind. Not surprisingly I was the only walker out this morning!
Back down in the shelter of the Torrs in New Mills, Derbyshire with the fast flowing rivers Sett and Goyt meeting by the weir.
