On 16 April 2005 I woke up to a thin covering of snow on the hills round my house on the Derbyshire/Cheshire border. The snow soon thawed lower down but was still lying in the late morning higher up as this view shows on a drive just above Buxton on the A53 road at Axe Edge.
Some snow remained on the highest hills through the day, this afternoon view is from my house towards Kinder Scout.
