On
6 April 2008 there was snow in various parts of the country, mainly down south
but overnight showers left a cover over the Saddleworth area. This is the mid
morning scene on the A62 at Standedge after the sun had melted much of the snow.
It was still rather chilly for April though!
In the early hours of 8 April there was a surprise fall of snow around Mossley but little or no snow a few miles away. This is the scene looking down on Top Mossley.

Mossley in low cloud. Snow depths were around 3-4cms in the town, a couple of
cms deeper on the hills though it was a very gloomy damp morning

View to Hartshead Pike hidden in the gloom on 8 April. Much of the snow lasted until lunchtime but thawed quickly once it brightened up in the afternoon. Still not a bad snow cover for April!
On the morning of 12 April there was another covering of snow on the hills, this is the summit of Alphin Pike at midday in low cloud
