VARIOUS STUFF - MOSSLEY & SADDLEWORTH SNOW PHOTOS 03 FEBRUARY 2009
BACK TO WEATHER PHOTO INDEX

After the previous night's snow and drifting [see here if you haven't already !] the road from Mossley to Lydgate had been dug out and ploughed, though was still very snowy

Drifting in the fields at Lydgate with temperatures a couple of a degree or two below freezing, 3 February 2009

The way into Lydgate, open again

This photo gives a good idea of the depth of snow which had blocked the road through the night, seen looking back from Lydgate towards Mossley with Alphin Pike on the skyline to the left.

More drifting in the fields and early morning sun.

Lydgate

The road may have been open again, but some people weren't going anywhere soon

Stockport Road heading back towards Mossley, much quieter than usual

A zoomed in view of Wharmton, some impressive drifting, or I suppose you could call it cornicing, along the edge
