In the evening of 3 March there was a light snow fall, this is the view the next morning near Hayfield, Derbyshire | |
Later on 4 March at Kinder Reservoir nr Hayfield with the snow having melted from the lower levels but Kinder Scout was still covered as it had been for the last 10 days | |
Another light snow fall occured overnight on 4 March followed by a cold sunny morning, this picture is taken above New Mills, Derbyshire on the 5th March. | |
The next week was milder and wet, but by the following weekend snow returned. This is Market Street New Mills on the morning of the 12 March with a light snow cover blowing about in a strong wind and below freezing temperatures | |
Also on the morning of 12 March in New Mills. Heavier snow fell through the morning giving a covering which lasted throughout the day. | |
Another weekend and still snow! 18 March above Hayfield looking to Kinder Scout which was still well covered. | |
There were plenty of snowdrifts still remaining, such as here near Rushup Edge. There was a strong bitter east wind, note the sign hanging at an angle due to the gale that was blowing! 18 March 2006 |
