On 8 December 1999, during the first spell of loco haulage, class 37 37429
stands at Manchester Oxford Road with the 1719 Man Picc to Holyhead.
The following week 37401 arrives at Oxford Road on the inward working, the 1323 from Holyhead - 14 December 1999.
37429 at Piccadilly on 11 May 2000 having arrived from Holyhead. The train ran to Longsight where it ran round to work the 1719 return service.

For the summer timetable of 2000 the 1719 from PIccadilly ran to Llandudno. This is 37412 bringing the train into a wet Oxford Road Station.
What was supposed to be the last ever hauled 1719 service (and was the last class 37 hauled train), 37429 waits at Oxford Road in the afternoon sun on 22 September 2000.
Over the following years class 47s appeared at times inbetween spells of the service being worked by units. I never bothered taking any photos until the final months. This is a very clean 47767 on 1719 Man Picc - Holyhead, 9 January 2004.

Towards the last weeks of the service being hauled, class 47s in various colours appeared. This is ex Great Western 47832 on the 1719 Picc - Holyhead at Oxford Road.
Yet another different looking 47, 47853 waits to leave Manchester Piccadilly on 9 September 2004.
