| In the winter of 1999 an afternoon North Wales - Manchester Piccadilly and return service temporarily went over to loco haulage. Over the following few years, the 1719 Manchester - Holyhead (or Llandudno) had regular spells of being formed by a real train. What was supposed to be the last ever hauled 1719 service (and was the last class 37 hauled train), 37429 waits at Oxford Road in the afternoon sun on 22 September 2000. |

Over the following years class 47s appeared at times inbetween spells of the service being worked by units. I never bothered taking any photos until the final months. This is a very clean 47767 on 1719 Man Picc - Holyhead, 9 January 2004. |
