VARIOUS STUFF - ALL LINE
ROVER EARLY 1990
| In February 1990 myself and an equally foolish companion set off on an all line rover to cover some of the British Rail network we'd not previously done. This being my first All Line I wanted to fill in those gaps on main lines between bits I'd already done and make a start on the southern region. | |

It had been a very stormy night and the bad weather continued in the morning of 26 Feb, causing my HST to Leeds to arrive 3 hours late and messing up my plans! So I went to Birmingham where I took an additional service to Paddington, no trains running to Euston due to the storm damage. The service is seen at Reading with 50036. |

The next day was still pretty windy. This is Ryde on the Isle of White, we'd travelled across on the little ferry to the end of the pier then done the line to Shanklin. But on our return the train could not continue over the pier due to the rough sea and the ferry was cancelled. After seeking refuge in a pub we got back to the mainland on the car ferry. |
