My first ever visit to a railway 'open day' was to BREL's Doncaster Works on 28 July 1984. Among the crowds are D9000, 50001 and 58008

Waiting for scrapping are class 13 13003 and 46010. 46010 survived and is now at the Llangollen Railway.

Recently withdrawn class 47s 47416 and 47405, 3 May 1986.

Seen looking over the fence of Doncaster Works on 30 October 1986 was 31402 awaiting scrapping.

On the same day fellow class 31/4 31436 was in the process of being cut up. The loco was withdrawn after a crash at Chinley in March '86.
