VARIOUS STUFF - SOUTH WEST ROVER 1989 - page 01

In August 1989 I spent a week on a 'South West Rail Rover' which I travelled on all the BR passenger lines in the area and spent some time riding behind class 50s. And I found time for a bit of sunbathing and photography at Dawlish!


On route to the South West. I travelled via Birmingham and Reading to Baisingstoke when I took 50002 as far as Salisbury, where it is seen on the 1215 from Waterloo. 1 August 1989.


At Exeter depot later on 1 August 1989 with 50003, 50049 and 08849.

37675 on a china clay train at Plymouth in the morning of 2 August 1989.

End of the line. 47665 at Penzance with the 2145 to Paddington (my bed for the night!) on 2 August 1989.

On 3 August 47819 heads along the sea wall at Dawlish with the 0905 Plymouth - Glasgow.
