Yes I know these are not class 47s, but Virgin Train class 86s were also in there final spell of service on cross country trains in 2002. These are 86206 and 86236 at Manchester Piccadilly, 13 May 2002.

For the last few months of service a number of 47s were painted in different liveries. This one is 47853 in XP64 colours at Piccadilly, 13 May 2002

Another repainted 47 was 47829 in police colours, also at Manchester Piccadilly having arrived on a train from Paddington on 16 May 2002.

Large logo 47847 runs into Piccadilly on 17 May 2002 with a service from Paddington
