VARIOUS STUFF - SCOTLAND 1989

Between Xmas and New Year 1989 I spent a few days in Scotland, mainly to cover the remaining passenger routes I'd not done (all being the local lines around Glasgow). But I also travelled on and encountered a few loco hauled trains, photos here.


26043 at the buffers of Glasgow Queen Street, 27 December 1989. It was working nothing more exciting than bringing in the stock for the overnight to Inverness.

47578 leaves a cold frosty Perth station on the 1110 Aberdeen - Glasgow, 28 December 1989.

On board the 1142 Edinburgh - Inverness at Dalwhinnie, 28/12/1989 as a class 37/7 heads a southbound freight. Train engine is 47617.

47541 arrives at Aviemore working the 1445 Inverness - Edinburgh, 28 December 1989.

While spending a very cold and boring few hours stuck on Carlisle station I was at least able to photograph 37080 on a southbound tanker train - seem at 4 in the morning on 29 December 1989.

37114 runs north past Newton Station on 29 December 1989.
