On 1 July 1990 Pathfinder Tours held a 'rail day' between Birmingham and Bristol as part of an event at Gloucester, with special trains hauled by rare engines - these are some of them. 58004 at Gloucester on the 0925 Birmingham - Bristol.

This is 56034 at Gloucester on the 0825 special from Bristol - Birmingham


At Bristol Temple Meads with 37800 + 37691 having arrived on the 1034 from Gloucester, 1 July 1990.

At Gloucester 08795 was working a shuttle service with a steam engine on the other end of the train.

Back at Bristol Temple Meads with 20084 and 20170 on the 1320 special service to Birmingham.

20025 and 20096 at Gloucester having taken over from the above pair of class 20s on the same train.

Also on 1 July 1990 Hertforshire Tours ran a railtour via Gloucester to Sharpness, 37100 and 37074 are seen on one end of the tour...

...with 37131 and 37235 at the other. That day I rode behind 11 new main line 'no heat' engines - a record for me for one day!
