On my first visit to the Midland Railway Centre on 12 July 1986 where the RTC's 97403 (former 46035) was on display at Butterley

97201 was also on display and later worked a trip along the line with D4

Class 44 D4 and former class 24 97201 at Butterley, 12 July 1986

New class 58 58043 at the Midland Railway Centre, 12 July 1986.

During the diesel gala at the MRC on 17 October 1992 20227 is seen arriving at Swanwick

The view at Swanwick on a train hauled by 37110 as it passes 55015, 17/10/1992.

46045 waits to leave Butterley on 8 April 2000 during a diesel gala at the MRC

Class 20 D8001 passes 46045 at Swanwick, 8 April 2000

Swanwick depot on 8 April 2000 with 45133, 20205, 33201, 55007 and D4. The MRC has a large collection of diesels, it's a shame it is probably the most boring preserved line to ride on with just a very short section of track to crawl up and down

Also at Swanwick with 40013 undergoing restoration alongside 31271 and 31163

50007 and 20205 at Swanwick

31166 in action at the MRC diesel gala, 8 April 2000

40012 passes the reservoir towards Butterley 08/04/2000

D8001 runs round a train at Hammersmith on the MRC on 8 April 2000
