By summer 1992 I'd had enough of going out on trains! But I was persuaded to spend a few days on a 4 day 'Freedom of Scotland' railrover, the last rover I ever did. We travelled up to Scotland on the Inverness sleeper, seen here on arrival behind 37251 and 37252 - date is 20 July 1992.

The next train we did was was the 1015 to Kyle of Lochalsh behind 37294, pictured at Inverness on 20 July

During a boring wait at Perth in the early hours of 21 July 1992 I photographed 47241 on a southbound freight.

After arriving at Inverness our 'move' each morning was the 0600 Inverness - Aberdeen out to Nairn, a train worked by 47532 each day. It is seen here on 21 July at Nairn under the observation of my travelling companion Coxy

We then travelled to Garve via two trains worked by sprinter units to pick up the morning class 37 hauled train from Kyle. On 21 July 1992 37294 arrives at Garve on the 0650 Kyle - Inverness
